Delta Sigma Theta is a sorority created by college-educated women of service. This program began with a focus on programs targeting African American communities. In existence for well over 100 years (started in 1913), Delta Sigma Theta was started by 22 women at Howard University in Washington DC.
Membership of Delta Sigma Theta’s sorority is open to any woman meeting their requirements. Women of any race, religion, or nationality are welcome to become a member in undergraduate chapters in colleges, or through alumnus chapters once a degree is obtained.
The mission of DST is: “Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community.”
Delta Sigma Theta is the largest predominantly black sorority in the United States. There are over 300 thousand members in over one thousand chapters located in ten countries. They are also a member of many umbrella organizations, including:
- National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
- National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
- National Council of Negro Women (NCNW)

BUT WHY CHOOSE DIVINE DELTA?
Divine Delta started in 2015 by a small group of fraternity and sorority members a few years out of university. It was begun with the idea to create an online one-stop-shop for some of the best and highest quality fraternity and sorority apparel and gifts, to address a gap in the marketplace.
Ultimately, our dream was to create a solid Geek store that provided far more than simply plain letter shirts that have dominated the apparel market for decades. Instead, we wanted to provide new, revitalized and unique items for our esteemed fellow Greeks. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to the production of unique new designs and products. We are always adding additional offerings, and ensuring that the merchandise we provide our customers truly enjoy.
